The origin of this exhibition is the circular meeting of four artists who have recognized each other across the Atlantic.
(Gregory Forstner and Jacques Flechemuller who share their life between France and America, Gérald Panighi and Philippe Jusforgues, attached to the Côte d’Azur).
Worked by the singular universes that their painting or their drawing shapes, they find themselves around the raw and poetic offbeat figuration of bodies, moments, climates: so many funny enigmas posed to the reality of our world.

“Not doing what others do: eating in the middle of the street, shining other people’s shoes, banging my head against a wall, etc. There can be simple gestures and there can be spectacular gestures. My first gestures date from 1958. I had theorized them as part of Appropriations: since everything was art I appropriated the slap, the kick in the ass, etc.” Ben
