François Paris ‘ drawings seem to be born from a desire for stories. As fragmentary and essential elements of a narrative that goes beyond them, they are so many possible paths that activate a world in permanent construction. Recovered from the flow of images circulating on the Internet or specially made, the photographs that serve as starting points for the artist have various qualities. Singular or anecdotal, they often evoke the body or the mechanics, the face or the human skull… They refer to transience and appearance.
Each drawing is the starting point for an elliptical story to be invented. François Paris’ exhibitions are therefore open scenarios, sequences. In this sense, we could say that these works borrow as much from cinema as from photography: the points of view, the framing, the characters, the clues, but also and above all, this capacity to put in place elements capable of opening the way to the imagination.

Nicolas Schevin ‘s drawings propel the viewer into dreamy, sometimes feverish, visual experiences. Through a digital medium, he creates collages, often enlarged compositions of his spontaneous drawings, sketches or drafts, creating a tension between the sketch and the digital drawing.
This work of clandestine assembly organizes impossible or disreputable meetings between figures and a few fragments of texts, always resting on a fragile balance.
