Ascension – Charlotte Pringuey Cessac – Vallauris School of Ceramic Art
From March to November 2019 the Vallauris School of Ceramic Art hosted Charlotte Pringuey Cessac in artistic residency for the realization of the work Ascension.
Ascension is a porcelain wall, a climbing wall where the gripping elements are prints of prehistoric tools in cut stones discovered on the site of Terra Amata in Nice. The porcelain work is imagined following the reading of the unfinished novel Le Mont Analogue by René Daumal, it also refers to prehistoric caves and a dreamed ascension towards our origins.
Ascension was presented for the first time as part of the exhibition Bruit originaire at the MAMAC in Nice. The images were shot at the EACV in Vallauris and the MAMAC in Nice.
