” The Clopers are at the crossroads of documentary. Filled with ease, full of self-satisfaction, to the point of being inflammable! Borrowed directly from a 19th century painting, these are angel faces, taken from a casting of young actors.
Watching them surround themselves with delight with multiple wisps of smoke, the “gang of the lit” is the archetype of innocence, vitality and future!
Here the child obviously takes power in order to leave himself in smoke… A kind of striptease, the pictorial account of a contemplative who gives to see what he has stolen from the everyday, at the moment x where the ordinary merges with the extraordinary.”
