Marie Noury

Freshly graduated from the 2021 Bachelor’s degree in Photography at the ECAL/ Ecole cantonale d’art de Lausanne, Marie Noury is an artist whose practice tends to explore the links between text and image. Defended as a diploma work, her project Nous voir ensemble received a “very good” mention from the jury chaired by Hinde Haest, curator at FOAM – Foto Museum Amsterdam.

By compiling fragments of images, Marie Noury conducts a videographic investigation where words, looks and gestures intersect around a photograph taken from her family archive. Memories vary as do interpretations. Between reveries and revelations, Nous voir ensemble questions with tenderness the power of photographic framing, of words and of emotional memory.
