He participated in the creation of La Station in 1996, then moved to Paris and Berlin. Back to Nice in 2012, it is now here that he pursues his artistic research on, among other things, the representation of words: the mental image that they generate. It is from this desire that the exhibition Les tableaux n&#8217;existe pas was born. He proposes to transcend the idea of the painting. The Eva Vautier Gallery, like a singular imperfect &#8220;white cube&#8221;, with its edges and irregularities, becomes a place of fabrication in search of the truth of the imaginary painting.<\/p>\n<div class=\"page\" title=\"Page 2\">\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p>Between installation and performance, this proposal is in the continuity of his intervention during the Supervues exhibition, in 2016, at the H\u00f4tel Burrhus in Vaison-la-Romaine. He had to create a work in a hotel room in a hurry. Starting from what we usually find there, neutral enough to displease no one but not original enough to mark the mind of the passing inhabitant. The artist then asks himself the question of the physical representation of the idea of the painting. Is this an image? A painting? A frame? What do you think of when you hear the word &#8220;painting&#8221;? Is it a radical idea or a bourgeois idea? What is the purpose of the table? One question leads to another, should the painting serve a purpose? What makes it beautiful orlaid? Is it a protean meaning? The line is an attempt, not necessarily successful, of the idea &#8220;painting&#8221;.
